It was heard that the 1996 smash-hit romance Chinese movie ‘Comrades, Almost a Love Story’ is going to be re-made into Korean drama version, entitled ‘Love Song’. Korean actor Park Yong Ha has been confirmed to play the male lead in the drama. Now, the popular Korean actress Yoon Eun Hye has been recently cast for its female lead.
Yoon portrays a hard-working woman named Yoo Chae Hwa, who comes to live in Korea from China. Chae Hwa is a pure and innocent woman who never forgets her love for one man.
This Korean drama version has attracted the interest of people from beginning. According to production company Verdi Media, Hollywood studio Warner Bros, which owns the rights to ‘Comrades’, has already expressed interest to buy the U.S. and Chinese broadcast rights for the drama. The drama’s production company is currently in the progress of negotiating licensing rights to 11 Asian countries, and also arranging overseas location shoots.
The filming of ‘Love Song’ will start in August and plans to air in the end of the year.
